About the role


The Business Continuity Manager develops, implements and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring operational resilience and minimizing disruptions by identifying critical functions, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating response efforts.


Develop and Maintain Business Continuity Plans:

  • Create and update comprehensive business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery plans (DRP).
  • Ensure plans are aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Document procedures for maintaining operations during and after disruptions.


Conduct Risk Assessments:

  • Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities that could disrupt business operations.
  • Assess the potential impact of disruptions on critical business functions.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of disruptions.

Coordinate Response Efforts:

  • Lead and coordinate response efforts during business disruptions.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources are mobilized to support recovery efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders during emergencies.


Test and Validate Plans:

  • Conduct regular testing and validation of BCPs and DRPs to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to plans.


Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities during a business disruption.
  • Promote a culture of resilience and preparedness within the organization.


Compliance:

  • Ensure that BCPs and DRPs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and best practices.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential risks.
  • Contribute to the development of incident management procedures.
  • Participate in industry events and professional development activities.


Must haves

  • Bachelor of Business Degree or Equivalent
  • With BCP-related experience, preferably in the Financial Sector / Banking Industry
  • BCP certification is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills to liaise between business stakeholders and development teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage risks accordingly
