The Design & Strategy function provides programmatic leadership in the areas of evolving the Community™ platform, advice and approaches to Human Resources policy development, as well as the definition of strategies in engaging with Birches Group client groups and stakeholders. These dual functions are critical to achieving Birches Group’s mission by positioning Community™ as an innovative solution for workforce formation and management.

The Sr. Research Analyst conducts research and maintains a comprehensive legislative and media database on key developments in workforce management, including recognition and rewards, pay equity, virtual work, inclusive workplace policies, and emerging trends. This role supports the Community™ Workforce Management strategy and roadmap, ensuring they remain effective and relevant in addressing client needs, enabling compliance, and fostering equitable and sustainable organizational practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research and prepare summaries of policies, legislation, regulations, and market practice related to critical areas of workforce management including recognition and reward, pay equity, transparency, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), virtual work, and any other emerging areas to generate market intelligence that would strengthen Community’s position as an integrated HR solution.
• Maintain a comprehensive media database on identified issue areas, covering organizational practices and emerging legislation to support the development of presentations, engagement materials, and consulting outputs for clients.
• Advise the Practice Lead – Workforce management on emerging issues and trends that would impact the effectiveness of Community™ workforce management campaigns and outreach to clients in the International Organization (IO)/Bilateral and International NGO (INGO) sectors.
• Advise on the status of cross-unit activities and initiatives to support the alignment of the Workforce Management practice with the IO/Bilateral, Business Development, and Marketing units.
• Ensure content identification and research production are well-aligned with client engagement activities/initiatives defined in the Workforce Management roadmap and timeline as well as consulting project timelines
• Gather and analyze insights and feedback from multiple internal and external sources in support of identifying trends, addressing gaps, and implementing targeted improvements that enhance program quality.

Targeted Specialized Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in international relations, communications and media, or development studies
• Prior specific experience in research, policy analysis, and client engagement in the international development sector
• Fluency in English essential to communicate in writing and speaking.
