Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Automation Engineer / Data Analyst with expertise in both PHP and Python for automating data extraction, analysis, reporting, and building effective data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data automation frameworks, API consumption, and creating reports and dashboards. You should also have experience working with relational databases and SQL for both analysis and automation tasks. The role will require collaboration with stakeholders to ensure data reporting is accurate and matches business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation & Scripting:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PHP and Python (both imperative and object-oriented programming).
• Work with frameworks like Django, Flask, or Laravel for automation or use vanilla code where appropriate.
• Break down complex automation problems into manageable tasks and efficiently implement solutions.
• Implement and manage data extraction automation tasks, including HTTP/Browser automation (scraping) when necessary.

Data Extraction & API Integration:

• Consume and interact with various APIs (RESTful, OData) for extracting data.
• Utilize ETL tools for processing, transforming, and loading data into systems for reporting and analysis.
• Build and maintain automated data pipelines for real-time or batch data extraction.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Work with Excel and other data analysis tools to clean and prepare data for analysis and reporting.
• Create accurate and timely reports with the ability to handle revised or updated data points over time.
• Utilize aggregation, pivot tables, statistical analysis, and scripting to create meaningful insights and models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that reporting aligns with business reality and objectives.
• Design and create dashboards and reports that are actionable and insightful for business leaders.

Database & SQL:

• Design and maintain relational database schemas and queries.
• Use SQL for creating views, materialized views, CTEs, window functions, and ranking functions to support complex reporting requirements.
• Develop and optimize stored procedures for automated data manipulation tasks.

Web Front-End Development:

• Build simple CRUD web interfaces (using front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue) for interacting with databases.
• Develop a Master-Detail interface for data visualization and management, ensuring usability and simplicity.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for reports and data needs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate and aligned with organizational goals.
• Document and share automation processes, code, and best practices for future reference.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with PHP and Python in a professional environment.
• Familiarity with imperative, object-oriented, and functional programming approaches, with a preference for one or more based on project needs.
• Strong experience with data extraction from APIs (REST, OData) and working with ETL processes.
• Experience with web scraping and HTTP/Browser automation.
• Strong SQL skills and extensive experience working with RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
• Knowledge of views, materialized views, CTEs, window functions, and stored procedures.
• Proficient in using Excel and other tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience building dashboards or reports using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks for building simple CRUD applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and teams across the organization.
• Knowledge of best practices in automation, data integrity, and reporting.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience with Django, Flask, or Laravel frameworks for web or automation tasks.
• Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data storage or processing platforms.
