Job Position Summary


The Assistant Manager is in-charge of specific Vessel Accounting group as assigned and report to Manager, Vessel Accounting. The primary responsibility is to address the financial reporting requirements from clients and ensure proper adherence to the company’s policies and procedures by way of implementing best accounting practices among the team.


Key Roles and Responsibilities


  • Lead the team of accountants within the assigned group in daily operations
  • Maintain close and effective communication with Clients to understand and meet their requirements in terms of financial reporting for the vessels
  • Monitor the preparation of monthly vessel financial accounts, cash flow statements, budget variance reports, etc. and end to technical team for checking and approval
  • Review the reports and ensure timely submission on reports and responses externally with clients and internally with other departments


Relationship:


INTERNAL:

  • All internal departments like Technical, Manning, Quality Safety, Purchasing, etc. on vessel accounting matters


EXTERNAL:

  • Ship Owners on various matters like reporting, clarification on queries, raising the fund requests and settlement of accounts on periodical basis.


Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications:


  • Degree in Accounting & Finance or related fields
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, prior experience in Shipping Industry is preferred
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience in preparing Financial Reports, Cash Flow Reports, Budget V/s Actual Reports is a must
  • Working knowledge of ERP (Oracle, SAP) is preferred
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Able to multi-task and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time.
